Wood County Board members are called Supervisors. They are elected public servants and serve a two-year term.
Supervisors attend a monthly board meeting and are also assigned to one or two committees that also meet once a month.
Before each board meeting members receive a packet of about 300 pages to read through before the meeting. Before each committee meeting a packet of 30-40 pages is sent out to be read.
After reading, additional research is done, or pertinent meetings are scheduled.
A realistic estimate of time commitment is about 20 hours a month.
